![]() ![]() Has anybody had a similar story? Let me know in the comments. No hacking or modding with this one though, and it works phenomenally. So, after two years without an Xbox 360, my grandparents won $10,000 from a scratch ticket and got me an Xbox 360 Arcade in 2009, which I still use to this day. So even after removing the X-clamps, it continued to cut its own wires. We once again went in and diagnosed the problem as broken circuitry from the X-clamps preventing the board from slightly flexing under heat. So we removed those, and the Xbox worked for 3 months before crapping out again. ![]() ![]() Then that Xbox got the 3 Red lights of doom, and we later discovered that it was from the pointless X-Clamps on the motherboard. Then the Xbox 360 came around in 2007, and my dad still wanted to burn games for me instead of buying them, so when I got my Xbox 360 he immediately cracked it open and installed the modification program. Then my original Xbox started to get the Red Ring of Death, and very rarely could I play games on the Xbox. After they’re updated, go back into the Downloader and you can get some Emulators and a lot of cool stuff directly through Ethernet. Install that, then update it and Emustation first. ![]() So if you use Easynews or something, each game download is about $2 USD (plus one DL DVD) instead of $40 or $60. For the emulators, you can go to the settings menu and towards the bottom you should see Downloader. If you don't know what I'm talking about, please allow me to explain.īack in 2005 my dad bought a little chipset that hangs out of the side of the Xbox which overrides the "Genuine Product" check on Xbox disks so that you can burn a disk with an Xbox game on it. ![]()
